William Beckett founded the company in 2010 after a "Eureka" moment.

His sister-in-law had fallen and broken her hip and William was lying awake one night wondering if there was anything that could have prevented it. 

After extensive research William realised that there was nothing on the market that was effective or comfortable, so he developed these hip protectors using a polymer that absorbs impact. This magic ingredient is also used in motorcycle clothing, mobile phone cases, and military helmets.
